Band-in-a-Box is intelligent music accompaniment software. You can hear and play along to many song ideas and go from nothing to something in a short period of time. Band-in-a-Box is your on demand backup band. Just type in chords using standard symbols (like C, Fm7, or C13b9), choose the style you’d like, and Band-in-a-Box automatically generates a complete arrangement of piano, bass, drums, guitar, strings, etc. Then, you can play back your music with pro-quality instrument sounds. UltraPak vs Pro We are often asked what the difference is between the UltraPlusPak and Pro version of Band-in-a-Box. The UltraPak includes: Everything in the Pro package including the main Band in a Box program - PLUS - ALL styles sets, soloists sets, melodists, and ALL RealDrums and RealTracks sets for higher quality playback. You would spend over 1000 dollars if you were to purchase these items seperately, so this is a huge savings. See below for details about the various features. New Features Many features have been added over the years – Notation and Lyrics, Piano Roll, 16-channel MIDI Multitracks, Harmonization, the StyleMaker, a Conductor window, Medley Maker, and more. The Soloist and the Melodist are popular intelligent features that generate professional solos. RealDrums and RealTracks add the sounds of live session musicians. The Audio Chord Wizard can analyze and extract chords from audio recordings and write them to the Band-in-a-Box chord sheet. You can also record an instrument or voice and generate multiple harmony parts or adjust pitch, vibrato and other effects. When you're done, you can burn to CD, print sheet music, and/or save to a compressed audio format. What do the style sets do? This version of Band-in-a-Box includes ALL of the style sets. The styles are basically a blueprint of what a song will sound like. Here's an example... Let's say you created a chord progression and now you want to choose a style for it. With the regular version, you would have the choice of a few different rock styles, country styles, jazz styles, etc. This version includes many more styles in any genre you can think of. The styles in this version are more diverse too. For example, instead of chosing a generic style like Rock, you would have many varieties of Rock to choose from. You would get different instrument arrangements different time signatures, or even styles of popular musicians. This doesn't mean the regular version is lacking though. You can create your own styles and make songs sound any way you want in either version, but this version gives you 1000's of pre-made styles ready at the push of a button. What are RealDrums and RealTracks? They replace MIDI tracks and can be controlled just like MIDI instruments (volume changes, muting etc.). They follow your chord progressions, so you hear an authentic audio accompaniment or solo instead of computerized MIDI sound. Real Drums and Tracks are not samples... They are full recordings, lasting from 1 to 8 bars at a time, playing in perfect sync with the other tracks.
