OldBasic is a tutorial designed to teach computer programming to students, teachers (especially math and science), and certainly, interested adults of any age. It reaches into the past to revive the original BASIC program, an astonishing creation developed in the 1960s at the science laboratories of Dartmouth College for NASA. Writing today's software has become a complex chore, but students will see that essentially, yesterday and today aren't very far apart in fundamental theory. When used in the classroom, teachers often use OldBasic to reach kids who have looked at math problems from the textbook so much that the idea of using a computer to learn seems exciting. Students often see that OldBasic solves math problems in the same way that textbooks do, except often it may be more exciting. Note: Teachers are invited to make copies of OldBasic for their students' activities. OldBasic runs with Windows 10 and above and requires a bare minimum of processor speed. We ship it pre-installed on a 16GB USB drive (flash drive), ready to be inserted into most any laptop or computer running Windows. No installation is required, and the package material is licensed for lifetime use. And it's important to note that your computer's disk space is not used in programming. You will receive the OldBasic program and many programming samples in the packet. Any data you create while running your programming exercises are written to the flash drive only. This means that you will not be using your hard drive as you study and run OldBasic.
